I went on a narrowboat holiday starting out of Worcester Marina on the Staffordshire & Worcester Canal with my wife, daughter and son in law and their dog. We went for a long one (about 60ft). We had all the mod cons: fridge, cooker, dvd player etc. The bed were clean but a bit awkward to get in and out of as you have to climb over someone else. We did not have to pump out the toilet at all for the week thankfully though you do have to refill drinking water every day, but this is not a problem as there are many places to do this.We had not been on a canal boat before so we were shown how to operate locks and steer etc. All the people that we met on the canal were very pleasant and helpful. You do have to wait for locks quite often it was the height of the season. I was surprised how much we had to do while we were on the water but there is pleasant of time to relax one we moored up.
